FREE QUESO FOR THE GREATEST PEOPLE IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!

Post by beardedlamb »

all you gotta do is show up and help us pass out some flyers.

FIRST THURSDAY DECEMBER 7

We all have things we want other people to know about. Flyering is a great way to accomplish reaching our audience and hence our artisitic goals. And, there's FREE QUESO and hangin out afterwards at Guero's.

Meet under the big boot (I think it's @ Monroe and South Congress) at 7:45pm when things get hoppin. Thursday Night Awesome folks will join up with the crowd after the show. We'll do some passing out of flyers and then we'll head over to Guero's to call it a night... a queso night.

We need to be promoting the collective, individual shows, and awareness about new and pre-existing spaces. So, let's do that, eh?

WHO's IN?

geez, what a dick.
listen, not all of us have time to devote to standing around and handing out flyers that people are just going to throw away anyway.

and i would argue that part of the responsibility you have in putting up a show and participating in a budding artform is to increase awareness.

for instance, if you have budgeted 8 hours a week for improv, 1 of those should have to do with promoting it. You run the risk of having no one around to enjoy your hours of rehearsing and learning if you neglect to tell the public you're doing it.

and the fact that they might just throw it away is not the issue. this is the most cost-effective (time and money-wise) way to reach people, especially if we are passing the flyers out to our demographic and not just any old dude.

so, now you're suggesting that we profile our audience and discriminate against anyone else that has a smaller chance of coming, just based on how they look?

kind of, yes. we have limited resources and we need to appeal to our base and excite them before we expand out to those not in our typical audience.

I wonder if it'll be too late by the time the Thursday show at CTT is over.
