SERIOUSLY guys, there is a market for this and we have the equipment to do it. I honestly believe that investments in equipment for such a thing would pay for itself in 8 months. We could even do DVD & Digital Distribution (read iTunes paid video podcast & free promo podcast) with the equipment we have now if people are willing to get the tapes to me.DollarBill wrote:IMPORTANT: An audience member spotted the video camera at the micetro. I honestly think we could get a cheap-o computer with DVD burner (to make a master) and video editing equip & software for under $1000, including a new camera; under $500 if we just keep using our own cameras, and maybe less if I still have connections at HardOCP.

I strongly disagree.Brian Boyko wrote:SERIOUSLY guys, there is a market for this and we have the equipment to do it. So it should be on the agenda and get discussed.
Plus, if we really wanted to do it cheap, we could just get one of those fancy machines that Roy has that burns a DVD directly from a DV feed.
You work your life away and what do they give?
You're only killing yourself to live
At this time I disagree as well. Right now, you tube and google are what's hot for viral marketing. Plus (at least for me) improv is a dish, best served live unless you have perfect lighting acoustics etc
Plus its expensive.
Plus its expensive.

I would like $50-$200 for Thyme (the new calendar.) $50 is for a single site license or $200 for a server license in case troupes, etc. want their own calendar.

Indeed, I agree and think we should use equipment already available to us.kbadr wrote:I strongly disagree.Brian Boyko wrote:SERIOUSLY guys, there is a market for this and we have the equipment to do it. At some point (not necessarily by Sunday) I'd like to see a pretty graph of the per-show attendance & revenue over the past 3-6 months. I'd like to know what our averages are, which shows have been cancelled for lack of audience, and seasonal trends (if any.)
This info might shorten any debates we have over changing venues, slots, ticket prices, etc.
