Look at all of the improv festivals around the country. Most are at about the 5-7 year old level. Most started very small and some have grown huge in just a relatively short period. Improv is on a boom right now... a boom that started within the last decade.

There is tremendous interest in this art form, but it is still in its nacent stages as something that is commercially viable outside of Chicago and a few other cities, particularly long form.

People ARE starting to take notice, but it's a slow process to be sure.
