Late Night Hullabaloo Games - for sat. 1/21

Post by erikamay »

Here are the games I am thinking about for the upcoming Jam/Hullabaloo...

If you have a game you would like to switch out with any of these (and host/direct yourself), reply here or PM me.

Open
Game 1: Vocal Jam
Game 2: New Choice/DING
Game 3: Emotional Party (is this like Party Quirks or Emo Symphony?)
Game 4: Hitchhiker (or another game that gets a lot of people up and playing)
Game 5: Hell dub - Lead by Roy
Game 6: Slideshow - Lead by Wes
Game 7: Freeze tag (I think we should use this as the out for every hullabaloo).

holla atcha boy!

(girl...well, woman at this point. ok.)

Emotional Party is sortof like party quirks. Basically, you get four people up. Then you take a suggestion for an emotion for each one. Inevitably you'll get lust, anger, and something that isn't actually an emotion, like hunger. :D You gotta love the audience.
Anyway, once all four players have an emotion, three leave the stage and the fourth is hosting a party. When the lights come up, they are preparing for the party in their emotional tone. After a few seconds there is a knock at the door and the first guest enters. Now, the host and the guest take on the guest's emotion. After a few more seconds, the next guest enters, and all three assume that emotion. Likewise with the fourth. After a few gags, the fourth person finds a reason to leave and everyone reverts back to the third guest's emotion until the third guest finds a reason a leave. Et cetra back down to just the host.
It is a typical wind/unwind game with everyone assuming the most recent entrants emotion.
Very often it is a high-energy, over-acting game, that a comfortable audience volunteer or two should be fine at participating in.

My favorite game is sexy smelly smart, but i don't know how well it works as a performance game- it seems more like a rehearsal exercise. thoughts?

Its been a while since I've seen or been in the "yearbook monologues" (sp?) game, and you can use 5-7 people (or more?).

Other group games I like include "stringing the pearls" or "conducted story" or "conducted user manual" or what about the status games "master/servant pecking order" (with 4-6 people) and the "master/servant making faces" (with 3 people) games?
