non-profit status

Post by Jules »

I've been searching the forum/wiki and don't see minutes past Feb or maybe I am simply blind, which is possible. What is the outcome of AIC as a non-profit or under the ACOT umbrella? Are we?
Thanks,

I'm not the keeper of the details, but I'm pretty sure the AIC as an entity is not non-profit (legally anyway) and we fall under the ACOT umbrella at the moment.

That's what I figured. These are all fundraising related questions, by the way. Acot must have a 501 c3 number, do we get that number to use as an umbrellaed member?

i think wesley mistyped that and meant to say we are either non-profit or not for profit. but i could be wrong. i seem to remember a "yay, we're non-profit" post many moons ago.

Again, I'm not the one with the details, but as I understand it we can use their numbers and basically people donate to them in our name. Then they take a cut for services rendered and cut us a check for the remainder.
