HARD TARGET FLYERING: Mission I

Post by beardedlamb »

In an effort to raise awareness of Austin Improv, the advertising committee will be keeping half an eye on the landscape for similar "cool" events happening around town, so that we may hit them with flyering force and informational terptitudelessness.

Mission I:
Double attack, two prong style
Tuesday, November 14 - 9:15pm to 11ishpm
Alamo Downtown and Stubb's BBQ

There is a documentary screening at Alamo Downtown at 9:45 Tuesday night called Let Them Eat Rock that I think will attract our demographic. Prong one of this two prong mission is to meet in front of the Alamo at 9:15pm to hand out flyers to people going to this show.

At approx. 9:50pm or whenever the crowd has died down, the party will move to prong two at Stubb's BBQ on Red River to await the end of the Joan Jett concert which should be done by around ten-thirty, leven? sumpn like dat. Plus, you might catch sight of this luminary badass.

You can participate in one prong or both prongs. There will be AIC flyers provided but you can certainly bring flyers or have some handed out for you for anything you've got to promote.

Remember how much your life sucked before you knew about improv in Austin? Yeah, it was pretty lame. You might have even gone to a Joan Jett concert or two back then. Now is your chance to save others and bring them into the light.

FLYER!

I am *really* horrible at handing out flyers, but I want to help promote the AIC. Is there something I can do besides flyering?

badr, stick by me and do what i do. it is impossible to be bad at handing out flyers. there is a certain amount of rejection, but just look at it like high school dating. and look where you are now. it's just something you have to get through to get to the good stuff.

Using that logic, I'll do nothing for 4 years and have a pot of gold dropped in my lap.

But yes, I got yer back, Lamb. I'll be there tomorrow.

If anyone feels super strongly about not doing the face-to-face flyering, you could help by posting things around town.

This sounds like fun mission.
mission fun!

this is a standard bump.

this is ON in a major way.

come make improv better.

also, for those who are not interested in being face to face with potential clientele, trew is right. we need people to take these AIC flyers around to restaurants and places where people pick up flyers.

Okay, here's the scoop. A stack of flyers will be sitting on the box office counter at the Hideout. Whoever is flyering can pick them up there. They're just black and white on colored paper, so to bump our credibility, maybe we could pass out a wafflefest flyer with one of the nice new AIC postcards to the people.

We handed out 400 Waffle Fest flyers and quite a few AIC show flyers. People seemed pretty excited about the Waffles.
