Thanksgiving Day followup - who's bringing what? and more!

Post by Wesley »

So, for those who are coming to Thanksgiving Day festivities at ???, a few more questions and details!

First off, who's bringing what?
Main Dishes -
Sides -
Deserts -
Snacks -
Other -

I got plenty of paper plates, napkins, utensils, and plastic cups so that shouldn't be a problem.

Plus, there will be contests with crappy prizes and a year's worth of bragging rights!
Contest #1: Name my home contest!
Roy has Dinosaur Moonbase One, Kristen had the Embassy, Kaci and Kareem have the KB Ranch. My place needs a name and you can help!
Contest #2: Best Hand Turkey!
Bring a hand Turkey and we'll hang it on the wall. Best one wins a prize!
Contest #3: Pie Bake-off!
Open voting, best pie wins! Plus a guaranteed ribbon to first time pie makers!
Contest #4: Best Dish
Same as the pie contest, but with main courses and side dishes!
Contest #5: Best Dish
This goes to the person with the juiciest new piece of gossip, even if you have to make it up!
Contest #6: Best Other
This is a totally open award, so vote for who and what you want. Best snack, best drink, best pilgrim outfit, whatever. Since it is totally open, feel free to campaign, else we have a 1 to 1 to 1 to 1 to 1 tie.

We'll say festivities start around 2:00 and run into the evening? That should give people more morning cooking time and hopefully those that do lunch with family can still swing by afterwards.

If you have a folding chair, it wouldn't hurt to bring your own. I have some seating, but it is limited.

Well play games, watch movies, just chill out, and if it's chilly enough, I'll even light a fire. Feel free to bring instruments, games, movies, PS2 games, whatever!

If my green bean casserole is successful at the AIC awards din-din, then I'll bring that.

Oh. Em. Gee. I will totally kill all of you in your sleep. I mean, not me. Someone else will. Not me. Maybe you.

I've also do fairly decent mashed potatoes. I'll be happy to DJ the dance party in addition. No Thanksgiving is complete without a dance party.

I'm going to name my place the "Pit of Despair."

I have to do this now before the chemically-induced lie that is a life on Zoloft kicks in and I start behaving like a man who has something to live for.

House Naming

Post by Jastroch »

No one's called their house a "cave" yet, a la the Bat Cave. The Baines Cave! Or something Cave. The Bachelor Cave. I like that one.

I may have to bow out of some cooking. I'm getting my knee surgury on the 22nd! But I don't think it'll be a problem, as I will no doubt have a lovely assistant in the kitchen.
