FACT OF THE DAY: At a November 8, 1978 game between the New Jersey Nets and Philadelphia 76ers, a referee issued three technical fouls against Nets player Bernard King—this was a violation of league rules, since a player is ejected after the second foul. The Nets contested the result of the game, and the NBA agreed; the game was replayed from the time of the foul in a short rematch on March 23, 1979. The strangest result of this was that guard Eric Money, who had been traded from New Jersey to Philadelphia in the intervening months, became the only NBA player in history to score points for both teams in a single game.
