FACT OF THE DAY: In an experiment in the late 1950s, psychiatrist Humphry Osmond tested LSD as a treatment for alcoholism. After one year, 50% of the subjects in Osmond’s control group had not had a drink, a success rate that has never been duplicated by any other means.
