FACT OF THE DAY: Steven Spielberg and George Lucas wagered 2.5% of their earnings in a friendly bet over whose movie would make more money: "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" or "Star Wars." Spielberg came out ahead when "Star Wars" turned out to be the bigger hit; he earned a $40 million profit on the wager.
