FACT OF THE DAY: Beneath the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan is an abandoned subway platform that houses one car: a custom-made armored car employed by Franklin Roosevelt in the 1940s. Though no longer used, the car is too large to disassemble, and is considered a backup escape route when a President stays at the hotel.
