FACT OF THE DAY: In October 2015, a computer program called AlphaGo won a five-game tournament of go (a Chinese tile game) against top human player Fan Hui, the first time a computer has ever done so. Prior to this accomplishment, computers had beaten top humans at checkers, chess, Othello, Scrabble, backgammon, poker, and Jeopardy!, but never at go.
