VOTE FOR RUDY KLOPTIC AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING IMPROV TROUPE

Post by Dave »

Since 2005, the B. Iden Payne Awards committee has given out awards for Excellence in Improvisational Theater.
Past recipients have included:
The Frank Mills, Girls Girls Girls, Confidence Men, The Suitcase, ColdTowne, Parallelogramophonograph, Chris Trew, Tami Nelson, Shana Merlin, Michael Jastroch, Dave Buckman, Asaf Ronen, Roy Janik, and Justin York.

Last year, the improv category grew!
Awards were given out for the first time in separate categories for Improvisational Theatre. (Production & Director)
Congrats to Jayme Ramsay, Marc Majcher & Hurlyburly for winning those inaugural awards!!!!!!!

The Kloptic Award will now be an award JUST for 'Outstanding Improvisational Troupe'.
Show runs are not eligible in this category and should have sent eligibility into the B. Iden Payne Award Committee separately.
The only criteria for the Kloptic award is a minimum of six performances in Austin by the same cast (Sept 2014-Aug 2015), with no other similarities between the shows besides the ensemble and style of theater (Dramatic, Musical, Harold, etc).

Voting available from Tuesday Sept 8-Tuesday Sept 15, 2015
Finalists will be announced:
Monday, September 21
at The VORTEX
2307 Manor Rd, Austin, Texas 78722

NOTE:
People who vote twice will be tossed.
People who get their college & work friends to vote for their troupe will be tossed.
To Vote, you must be an Improvisational Performer or Student in Austin Texas, with corroborating proof of identity on-line.

If you disrespect your character, or play it just for laughs, it will sell some gags, but it's all technique.
It's like watching a juggler-- you'll be impressed by it, but it's not going to touch you in anyway. "
