Auditions for LONELY STAR at the Institution Theater!

You looking to see other worlds and sail through the night sky? Got some secret past you’d like to run away and hide from? Enjoy living on the questionable side of the law? Interested in a high risk job with not much chance of reward as long as it means you get to live free? Well then, friend, you’re in luck! Cuz the Lonely Star is hiring!

Auditions for the Institution Theater’s upcoming Lonely Star will be held on Saturday 9/12 from 10am to 12:30pm and 4 to 6pm! Please contact director Jordan T. Maxwell at jordantmaxwell@gmail.com to sign up for an audition slot, including your name, the times you are available to audition, previous improv/theatre experience, and any potential conflicts with rehearsals and performances! Sign ups end on 9/9 and audition times will be sent out on 9/10!

Lonely Star is an improvised space Western, in the vein of such genre smashing works as Firefly and Cowboy Bebop, following the crew of the eponymous ship as they look for work, escape, thrilling heroics, daring capers, and enough food and fuel to make it through the day! Performed episodically, the run will follow the same cast of characters throughout with each show telling a full and complete story of its own. The cast will be expected to research and discuss the source material, keep track of narrative and character elements across multiple performances, and perform in all shows in the run!

Rehearsals will be Saturdays from 4-6pm starting 9/19 and Mondays from 7-10pm starting 9/28, with a tech/dress rehearsal on Thursday 11/5. Performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm from 11/6 through 11/21.
