The State Theater acting program wanted me to share this fundraiser / casting director exposure opportunity:

"MEALS FOR MONOLOGUES"

With the holiday season upon us, we are thrilled to be hosting our Third

Annual "Meals For Monologues". This is such a wonderful way for all of us

to give back to our community plus see Austin-area actors (ages 12 and over)

at the same time. We are particularly excited because this is the third
year this will be a nation-wide Casting Society of America event, with
casting offices throughout the country participating!

We will devote a full day of seeing actors (ages 12 and over, please) who
wish to participate. Our Open Call is being held on Wednesday, November
19th from 10AM - 1PM and from 2PM - 5PM. (Doors will be closed at 4PM in
order for us to assure talent they will be seen. If you arrive after that
time, we cannot guarantee an opportunity to perform for us. This is not an
offer for employment, just a way for us to meet and greet actors!)

We are asking that you bring 2 (or more!) non-perishable items which are
being donated to "FEED THE COMMUNITY" at GATEWAY COMMUNITY CHURCH.

Please prepare a 1.5 - 2 minute contemporary monologue and bring
four (4) headshots/resumes.
Come with your holiday spirit! It's an Open Call so there may be a
wait, but we promise to see as many of you as we can in a timely fashion.
Suggestions for items to bring: Healthy, non-perishable food items
which are intact and unopened; items with non-breakable packaging (NO glass
please); food within the expiration date on the packaging; canned
meats like tuna, stew and chili (pop-tops preferred); canned vegetables;
pasta and sauce; and beans.
Additional suggestions: diapers, toilet paper, tooth paste and
brushes, shampoo, powdered laundry detergent, etc.
