FACT OF THE DAY: In 2010, the comic strip “Little Orphan Annie” ran a storyline that had Annie being kidnapped from Daddy Warbucks by a war criminal called “The Butcher of the Balkans.” The 86-year-old strip was then abruptly cancelled before the plot was resolved, leaving Annie living in Guatemala, and Warbucks believing her to be dead. As of 2014, the strip Dick Tracy has revived the plot line, with Tracy helping to find Annie.
