FACT OF THE DAY: On January 23, 1897, 25-year-old Zona Shue was found dead in her home in Greenbrier, WV. After being pronounced dead from childbirth and buried, her mother reported a visit from Zona’s ghost, who revealed that Zona’s husband had attacked her and broken her neck. The report was sufficient for the DA to order the corpse exhumed and autopsied, revealing a broken neck. Zona's husband was convicted of murder.
