Sign-Up to perform in ColdTowne's Improv Fantasy League

Post by TexasImprovMassacre »

Sign-up to perform in the 2014 Improv Fantasy League, ColdTowne's annual month long improv tournament.

The shows will take place on Saturdays in August at 8:30pm.

Anyone who wants to participate in the tournament may sign-up using the following form (so long as they have completed at least one 6-8 week improv class): http://goo.gl/TN1HFy

Team Captains will be chosen to select groups via a draft process.

Everyone who signs up will be drafted onto a group to perform at least one show in a single elimination tournament in August.

The winning teams will go on to perform again in the final round where one group will win a month long run of shows at ColdTowne on Thursdays in October.

The Deadline to sign-up is Tuesday July 8th.

***DETAILS***

There are several ways to be involved:

1.) Player - Submit your availability, and sign up to be drafted onto a team. Everyone who signs up will be drafted. You can expect to have one or two rehearsals leading up to your show on a Sat. in Aug. at 8:30pm, and if your group wins you will move on to the final round.

2.) Team Captain - These people will meet after sign-ups have ended to take turns picking the members of their groups. The team captain will also be responsible for organizing rehearsals, and leading the group.

3.) Mystery Door - Each show will feature "mystery door improvisers" that will be added to the groups last minute at the start of the show. These mystery door improvisers can be either good or "bad". If you would like to sign-up as yourself to volunteer to be a good addition to the groups, you may do so below. You may also submit a character of some kind who might be more difficult to deal with. Ultimately, while we want these mystery door improvisers to be a fun challenge, we don't want them to be impossible to deal with or to entirely derail a show.

4.) Host/House Manager - We will need a host for each of the shows to be in charge of making sure everyone is where they need to be, and that things run smoothly. The host will be responsible for things like explaining the rules to the audience, deciding who goes first, tallying votes at the end, etc. If you host one of the evenings you will receive free admission to a ColdTowne show of your choice (as well as much more specific instructions prior to your hosting).

IFL is a great way for the Austin improv community to come together and drop the labels of improviser from this school or that, and unite on our common love of comedy and varying tolerance for bits!
