Jill Bernard is more than a performer, she is a one-woman tour de force, an improvisational force of nature and we are bringing her for a full weekend of workshops and shows where we couple her up with some of Austin's top talent.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 10TH: SWITCH & GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS
SWITCH - Jill Bernard and Asaf Ronen have long been fans of each other’s character work. Now they have the chance to walk in each other’s improvised shoes. In SWITCH, Bernard and Ronen play character-based scenes with permission to jump into the other actor’s persona at any time, forcing the other to do the same.
JILL BERNARD with GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS - Jill Bernard joins forces and voices with Girls Girls Girls, Austin’s original all-female musical theater improvisation troupe. Together they'll concoct, compose and devise a full-length improvised musical from a single audience suggestion and with the assistance of a live musician. The ladies will make up all the songs, dances, characters, and stories to create one complete, blow-your-socks-off musical!
SATURDAY, JANUARY 11TH: JBKC & DRUM MACHINE
JBKC - This one-time only performance couples Jill Bernard with Austinian actress/improviser Kathy Rose Center. Together they present strong characters in the interesting moments of life where it would be equally appropriate to laugh or cry.
DRUM MACHINE - Drum Machine is Jill Bernard's one-person unscripted muscial featuring multiple characters in scenes, monologues and songs accompanied by the mad beats of the Zoom-Rhythmtrak 123 which Bernard calls, "Nature's finest drum machine." Typically the show opens by interviewing a member of the audience, and weaving details of their life into a historical period suggested by the audience.
