Friday, January 3rd, 8pm – The Five Families Show
The Institution is one of five amazing improv houses in Austin, and for one night there will be representatives from ColdTowne, The Hideout, Merlin-Works, The New Movement, and our very own Institution staff each taking the stage in turn to perform their own improvised morsel for a five-course extravaganza.
Friday, January 3rd, 10pm – The Five Families Jamilies Show
Representatives from each of The Five will come to get together for The Resolution Revolution, a Second City-style whiteboard set where the audience and theaters will discuss hopes for the coming year and then improvise off of those.
Saturday, January 4th, 8pm – The 2014 Preview Show
The Institution is very excited about the programming it has lined up for the coming year, so much so that we’re offering this special evening of sneak peeks. It’s a plate of amuse bouches, heavy on the amuse. There will be performances from the new LoveFest cast, a BitterFest rant from Michael Ferstenfeld, musical improv from the new project to be co-directed by Sarah Marie Curry and Asaf Ronen, presentations of Trust No One (the improvised conspiracy theory show) and Hurly Burly (improv meets burlesque), and excerpts from the upcoming musical productions of Zombeo & Juliet, Rock N Roll Purgatory and Bye Bye Turdie. Plus, there will be guest appearances from iScream Sandwich, Girls Girls Girls and stand-ups Will Cleveland, Catherine Grady, and Valerie Nies.
