Award Categories

Post by valetoile »

Hi everyone! Here is the list of award categories. Rachel and I spent a long time pouring over the hundreds of suggestions, and narrowed it down to 24. There were a lot more that we really liked, ut nobody wants to listen to a list of awards for three hours. We tried tot choose the awards we thought were really wanted by a lot of people, that promoted a spirit of recognitition for work well done, and that would be fun for people to vote on.

If your favorite category didn't make it:
1. There is a "best round one category suggestion" category- vote for your favorite category that didn't get used, and then we will take the top vote-getter and put it up as a one-time vote category in the second round of voting.
2. You may also feel free to take any of thhe unused category suggestions, or make up a new one, and start a post on the boards about people who deserve recognition in that area.

There are indivdual awards, troupe awards, and others that are self-defining or open.

Great job! What about best support work as a possibility?
Sometimes it's a form of love just to talk to somebody that you have nothing in common with and still be fascinated by their presence.

for clarification:

for the categories best absurd scenes/best realistic scenes, are we voting for a troupe, a single improviser, or actual scenes?

Roy told me last night he thought it meant single improviser, in which case I voted incorrectly.

Judging from the ballot, I'd say individual. It looks like 1-14 are for individuals, 15-19 are for troupes, and 20-24 are for things.

things are exactly as they are labeled. individual awards are for individuals. troupe awards are for troupes. other can be anything. why is that so hard?

Whoa Val, I'm sorry for the confusion. It's all pretty clear except those two categories that are slightly vague.

Thanks to you and Rachel for organizing all of this, that makes me happy.
