Special Edition FANCY PANTS, Oct. 4th -- A NEW DIRECTOR!

Yep, the legendary fancy hat of Fancy Pants will be passed down once more, this time to the extremely talented and playful Lacy Shawn! She's an incredible improvisor who showcases a knack for following the inspiration and crafting setups, games and warmups from her playful nature. (Just ask her about the What The Fox Say warmup. It's amazing.)

This makes her the PERFECT person to take over the Fancy mantle. This show is all about inspiration, I can't wait to see where it goes!

What is Fancy Pants you may or may not ask? Well, it happens the first Friday of every month at the Hideout Theatre and is perfect for ANY improvisor, no matter their current level, experience or improv background. Priority goes to students of all the various theaters in town and ALL are welcome. Everyone from ANY theater or experience level is invited to sign up! Not in classes in Austin but have improv experience from elsewhere? Sign up! Come one come all. It's great for students looking to get more practice on stage and also a playground for veterans to try out new ideas or play with people they never get the chance to.

The show is a series of two person scenes. I draw two names at random from the hat and those players pick whatever they feel inspired to do! Big fan of Willem Dafoe? Sweet! Play him in a scene or make up a game like Only Willem Dafoe quotes (exactly like it sounds). Wanna play made up games like That Sounds Like A Song Michael Bay or Dinosaur Office? Do it. Want to play an old standby like New Choice? A grounded Scene From Nothing? Go for it. The sky is the limit.

We'll be casting 17 people and call time for Fancy Pants is Friday October 4th at 7:15pm sharp. The show begins at 8:00pm and FANCY ATTIRE IS EXPECTED. (The general rule is that there is no such thing as "too dressed up").

Please sign up with your first and last NAME, your EXPERIENCE LEVEL and/orTHEATER AFFILIATION. I post the cast list here on this thread the Tuesday before. No emails will be sent, so check back here in one week to see if you've been cast!
