Hello Austin improv community!
I am Chris McKeever and I am moving to your city from the east. I love improv very much. I love doing it, reading about it, teaching it, coaching it, watching it, and pretty much any other way it can be used or consumed. I have been improvising for 10 years and I have spent the last 6 studying at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, Magnet Theatre, and performing all over the city. The improv community here is very important to me and I am sad to be leaving it.
BUT! I am excited to come to another community of improvisers and forward thinkers, though I am not totally sure how to get started. So, if you run a jam, or a practice group, or are looking for a coach, or want to grab a drink and talk about comedy with a new stranger, please get in touch with me. I'll be in Austin on August 17th and I am excited to meet some new people.
I hope my lists of vague improv activities finds you well. Thanks for reading this. Maybe we will be friends.
Chris

Re: NKOTB
Hello!
The day after you arrive in Austin, there's an improv mixer at the Hideout:
Sunday, August 18th, 5pm to 8pm.
Hideout Theatre
617 Congress Ave, Austin TX 78701
https://www.facebook.com/events/2787388 ... /?fref=tck
It's open to anyone and it's a nice, low-key way to meet a bunch of Austin improv folks.

The rest of the country has no taste. Forget this notion of red and blue states. That's not the country we live in. We live in a land mass divided into two groups -- those who watch "According to Jim" and those who watch "Arrested Development." That's infinitely more frightening than anything politicians could dream up.

Trying my best to shower in an apartment covered in boxes in enough time to make it the Hideout in 40 minutes. We'll see!
