Exquisite Corpse Project screening in Austin

Post by Brad Hawkins »

Hey everyone, I know some of you already plan on going to this, but I thought I'd put this here as they still need to sell some tickets.

Austin Screening of Film Festival-Winning Indie Comedy and Q&A with Filmmakers
(Ticket Threshold Must Be Met Within 3 Days!) (I, Brad, have asked for clarification on what date, exactly, this means)

The Exquisite Corpse Project is an indie comedy about five writers from the sketch comedy group Olde English writing a feature film together. Each of them wrote 15 pages, but before writing their section of the script, they were only allowed to read the previous 5 pages. And when they finished, they produced that movie. The result is a comedy/drama/thriller/action movie/buddy picture/heist flick hybrid that somehow works, and the whole thing is interwoven with behind-the-scenes documentary footage about the screenwriting experiment and collaboration process. It's really interesting, very funny and more than relatable to anyone who's ever collaborated with friends.

The Exquisite Corpse Project
(Note: The Exquisite Corpse is an old party game where one person draws the head of a creature, another the body and another the legs, each without seeing the other parts. Which is how this script was written.)

Tuesday, May 14th at 7:30
AMC Barton Creek Square 14

Tickets: http://www.tugg.com/events/3849

NOTE: THIS SCREENING WILL ONLY TAKE PLACE IF 12 MORE TICKETS ARE SOLD IN THE NEXT 3 DAYS. Otherwise no credit cards will be charged, kickstarter-style. Please help us meet this goal by reserving a ticket and spreading the word. I promise it's awesome.

Named one of the Top Films of 2012 by Film Threat editor-in-chief Mark Bell

"The concept is wildly original and consistently entertaining." - The Huffington Post

Best in Fest: Annapolis Film Festival
Audience Award: Dances With Films
Best Director: LA NewWave
The silver knives are flashing in the tired old cafe. A ghost climbs on the table in a bridal negligee. She says "My body is the life; my body is the way." I raise my arm against it all and I catch the bride's bouquet.

Hey Austin!

I'm a longtime NYC improviser who's now out in LA doing film and TV stuff, and I'm really trying to get the word out this upcoming screening in Austin. The movie is awesome, and Brad, thanks a lot for posting it here!

As for when the ticket threshold has to be met by, it's by around Noon on Tuesday. To help you remember that, I will remind you that's the time that Sheryl Crow and Bill or Billy or Mac or Buddy were drinking beers in a bar that faces a giant car wash.
