The cast for The Next Chapter

Post by Justin D. »

First, a big thank you to everyone who came out. There were some truly spectacular auditions, and this cast list would be at least twice as long if that was in any way feasible. What I've gathered here (with the help of my assistant director Jessie Pascarelli) is a strong mix of players with a wide range of experience, both as people with varying degrees of performance time at The Institution Theater and as improvisers in general. Without further ado, here's the cast for The Next Chapter:

Jessie Pitluk
Ben Masten
Ryan Hill
Megan Venable
Brad Hawkins
Heidi Rogers
Paul Normandin
Luke Wallens
Jessie Pascarelli
Justin Davis

Again, I want to thank everyone for coming out to this audition and I hope to see all of you in the audience when we debut the first weekend in May.

A published author reads a small excerpt from a book he or she has written and the performers play out a roughly hour-long story based on what they imagine to happen next. Performers must be excellent listeners, have strong collaborative skills, and be comfortable telling stories in multiple genres. We'll strive to capture the spirit and tone of the author's piece while also creating original stories of our own. This show can be any genre and should range from the outrageously comedic to the sublimely serious, but usually have a mix of both. Before the author's reading, there will be a short interview with that author. We'll offer space for the authors to sell their books during the entirety of the run.

The authors and their show dates are:

Deano Jones – May 3
Owen Egerton – May 10
Doug Dorst – May 17
Manuel Gonzales – May 24
Matt Sturges – May 31
Katherine Catmull – June 7
Beth Kander – June 14
Suzy Spencer – June 21
Daniel Quinn – June 28

I had not seen the author list yet.

Wow. :-)
