This First Thursday is Huge and Important

Post by ChrisTrew.Com »

This First Thursday is Huge and Important!
Why?
Because we haven't represented hardcore enough at a First Thursday in what feels like forever. Sure, Thursday Night Awesome is going on, but First Thursday starts early and goes late. TNA is neatly tucked in the middle. Besides, most TNA performers will join the party immediately after our show.

Why? pt. 2
Because there are 12 shows this weekend (including the Main Stage premiere of Gorilla Theater, the debut of "You're Fat", Jill Morris and Rachel Madorsky's sketch show in the Double Barrel, and the debut of "Community Service" in the threefer) and it sure would be nice if the audience not only came out to see shows, but came out to see specific shows. It would be even nicer if this weekend's performers were out and about spreading the word about Austin Improv (and themselves).

Hopefully enough volunteers can make it to hand out promotional materials for the groups who can't fit it into their schedule. Just drop off your flyers in a folder and put it in the box office. I'll take them with me when I head to South Congress post-TNA.

Why? pt. 3
The ColdTowne Theater is a month away from opening. We only have one chance at doing some cool lead-up marketing and this Thursday is a big big part of that. Help support the first "other" venue for Austin Improv by joining the rest of ColdTowne, who will for sure be there packed with huge stacks of teaser flyers.

Why? pt. 4
Advertising Committee Chair Jeremy Lamb mentioned having a post-flyering meeting place for fun social time. I'll let him post and tell you where that is and what to expect.

There! Let's do this.
Any questions, comments, concerns, ideas, things to add?
RSVP here! This thread will be 5 pages long in no time!

Double check on Gorilla. I was told Cops & Lawyers was extended until Oct. 14th or something.

My bad. I was going off on this so-called handy-dandy sheet of paper that's on my fridge. I'll burn it.

We usually meet under the "Big Red Boot" on Congress. I plan to be there after TNA since I'm in the show. It would be a good idea for folks to start showing up around 7:00 or 7:30 though. There is a ton of foot traffic at that time.

Let's make it 6:45 to be safe and to be ready for the 7pm rush.
So - it's official - 6:45 under the big red boot to flyer for all things AIC!
News on post-flyering treats to come shortly.

We're at 8 flyer-ers so far.

if the general flyers have specific show times, please include the Greatest Show on Turf timeslot for this Sunday at 3pm!!!

I wish I could flyer for it myself, but my fatherly duties do not allow for such frivolities.

reiterating bump. this important evening will be culminating in the ad committee's purchase of "all the queso you need" at guero's after flyering for those who can make it. justin yorke is your queso man so if he doesn't give it to you, give him the old 1, 2.

i was unable to get together some generic flyers as atx has sucked the last two days straight of my time and energy. i apologize. but there are still flyers there and if anyone wants to put together something generic for the AIC, the ad committee will spend up to $40 US on them. kepp the receipt and it must be GENERAL, as in, all inclusive.

once again, i am sorry and i'll see you on the other side of this next thing.

I'll prob be bringing my India counterpart for work to First Thursday. It's his first time outside of India. So don't scare him!
