Andy and I were talking about distributing free tickets to bartenders around town (particularly happy hour and hotel bartenders), the idea being that if they come see a show and like what they see, they'll have it in their internal list of shit to recommend to people.
I can go around town tomorrow distributing the tickets. I'll design them tonight, unless someone has any objections.
I'll list the show times on the ticket, and maybe a little blurb about why we're giving tickets to bartenders. (no sense in pretending it's totally altruistic)

You work your life away and what do they give?
You're only killing yourself to live

I forgot that I have sketch rehearsal this evening before troupe rehearsal. I'll wait until next week until I distribute free tix.
I was going to make them good for any of the 7 shows, and list show times on the tickets. Any other thoughts?

I have nothing to add, other than I think this is a great idea and another inventive form of non-tradition advertising.

try to make them a little difficult to forge, two sided maybe. (just a thought)
i would recommend restaurant & hotel bars more than bar bars, since bartenders at those locations usually have a better chance to get chummy with patrons.
this saves time as you could talk to the concierge at the hotel as well! seriously dood, give me a call when you do this. i love walking.

I really think we shouldn't be worried about forging at this point. "This show was so good, that I want to go again and bring friends." is the reaction we want. We'd love to have them pay, but right now we just need asses in the seats to create awareness.
A long way of saying "but 2-sided printing is HAAAAARD!"

We should on creating a small conceirge packet.
Some sort of complete schedule, small flyers maybe, web adress stuff, some free tickets. We should discuss this.

Printing the free tickets in color would be an easy way of making them distinct and not worth the effort to copy. And if someone wants to see free improv so bad that they counterfeit the coupons, I say more power to them.
