HOUSTON, Texas – Houston Improv Festival is proud to announce their second annual festival is scheduled for April 11-13, 2013. ComedySportz Houston will be hosting the fest at 901 Town & Country Blvd.

“We’re really excited to be partnering with ComedySportz this year,” said Todd Boring, HIF Executive Director. “Their location is an awesome space for our shows, and hotel and restaurant accommodations are all within walking distance.”

Todd Boring had a massive improv relapse in 2011 after a whirlwind trip to Chicago. “I was sitting at Improv Olympic watching ‘The Reckoning,’” says Todd, “and I thought, it’s about time Houston had an improv festival.” Houston Improv Festival was born.

Last year the festival hosted 12 teams from Houston and Austin. This year they are taking it to a whole ‘notha level. “We really want to showcase the diversity of improvised theatre this year,” says Todd. “We’ve got slots for 27 teams and we’ve opened submissions to the world at large.”

In order to apply to perform at the 2013 Houston Improv Festival, Teams should fill out the submission form on the Houston Improv Festival website: http://www.houstonimprovfestival.com.

A non-refundable application fee of $20 must accompany all submissions entered between November 1, 2012 and November 30, 2012. Submissions entered after November 30 will require a $30 non-refundable application fee. Final submission deadline is December 15, 2012.

Teams will be notified of the status of their applications and invitations to perform at the festival will be announced by January 15, 2013.

and ZARZAMORA! (I'm not cool enough to know how to make upside down exclamation points) we got your submission! You were first to submit so your prize is that you get to wait longest to find out whether you got in.

That's a lousy prize, sorry.

On a Mac, you press Option-1 instead of Shift-1.

On a PC, I dunno how the hell you do it.
