Casting for a comedy web series at a vet clinic

My friend Emily Hahn is producing a web series called "Mixed Practice" that takes place at a vet clinic. The series will be comedy, heavily improvised, and will also hopefully give people the idea to adopt or donate money to help homeless pets, so it is serving a purpose other than to give us a reason to play around with a camera. They're hoping to get casting done by the end of this month, at least for the first episode, and possibly episodes 1-3 filmed all at once. It's low-budget (read: no budget) and all they are offering people is some treats and beer for their time, but definitely a high-def file of each episode for anyone with an acting reel.

Worth a looksie to see if it would be a fun project. I will probably submit myself for it, so we might work together!

AUDITIONS will be Tuesday Sept. 25 from 10-4 at Trianon Coffee on Bee Caves Rd. Evening auditions can also be arranged for those who can't make it during the day. Filming of episodes 1-3 is still TBD but they are shooting for the first week in October.

Casting List- “Mixed Practice” Web Series

Cynthia- A career receptionist, Cynthia is mid 40’s, wears a lot of makeup, divorced with two kids and likes to play the field. She wins “Employee of the Year” every year, even though she has a horrible work ethic. She is quick-witted and likes to point out the main character’s flaws.

Trish- An aging party girl, Trish is usually late for work, and rarely does her job correctly. However, she can be a very loyal friend. She always looks perfect, loves to fake tan, and is proud of her boob job.

Guy- A vet tech who never speaks, but is seen in the background of every episode, always doing something funny, from dancing to his ipod while mopping, to fighting with a reluctant dog.

“Boss”- The owner of the practice, who is nearing retirement and rarely comes in. She likes to watch the cameras throughout the office from her home, which ends up getting the main character in trouble many times. She has a suspiciously close friendship with Cynthia the receptionist.

Lance- also known as “Hot Doctor”, Lance is the almost-perfect vet who keeps the place running. His fear of snakes is one of his few flaws.

Glenn- A client who treats his dog like a baby. He works from home and doesn’t see the sun very often, one of the highlights of his life is trying to hit on the main character, but it never works.

Eugenia- A client and owner of “Peaches” a dog prone to eating objects she shouldn’t. Eugenia could be almost any age. She could be hippy-ish or a very rich woman. Spends money on therapy for her dog, and trusts her animal psychic more than her vets.

Various Clients- There will be 1-2 clients in each episode of the series, so the more clever and creative talent we can find, the better. Anyone with a unique character or idea is welcome to help on this project!
