The future of improv programming at SVT

Post by shando »

Now that Merlin Works move to Zach Scott in 2013 has been officially announced, we now know the landscape of programming in the studio theater at SVT next year. In a typical month, there are 16 Friday and Saturday 8 and 10 PM slots. Curretly 9.5 of those slots are claimed by current and new renters at SVT, which still leaves plenty of space for people who may have the bug to produce a monthly show, or more. Here at the slots available:

Second Fridays of the month at 10 pm
Second Saturdays of the month at 10 pm
Third Fridays of every even numbered month at 8 pm (hence the .5 of the spots claimed)
Fourth Fridays of the month at 8 pm
Fourth Fridays of the month at 10 pm
Fourth Saturdays of the month at 8 pm
Fourth Saturdays of the month at 10 pm

To help test the waters to see who might be interested in producing shows, Gnap! is going to give up its 8 pm show slots for September to anyone in the AIC community. I know this is a little last minute, but people are always asking for more access to show time, and here it is. This would be perfect for getting your troupe a little more time before you head off to a festival this fall, trying out a new format idea, or anything you'd like really.

After I can help facilitate any long term arrangements with the powers that be at SVT. Would love to see plenty of improv performance still at SVT in the new year. Also, email or PM me should you have any questions.

Is there a rental cost for the show times now or in 2013?

Ah good question! For September, no! Gnap will handle rent and ticketing stuff to ease people into it. There are rental costs in 2013, drop me a line as to what you might be interested in and I can get you rates.

Ugh, I'm a moron. Forgot an entry for your name. So if you wrote to claim a 9/21 slot, uh, please email me so I know who you are. Form now edited.
