Out of Town improviser coming into town

Post by 00George »

Hey guys, I'm a San Diego improviser, and I'm travelling to Austin around Thanksgiving, and would love to meet some local improv people, maybe have a beer, maybe even play a show (fingers crossed). (With family obligations, it'd probably be that Friday or Saturday. Thanks guys, keep up the great work!

Ohmigod. I'm FROM San Diego! I mean, that's my hometown, I visit once every few months. Are you part of a theatre there?

What Chuy said: you can always squeeze into Maestro, unless they take that weekend off due to Thanksgiving. Otherwise post again here a week or so before you come, and we'll all meet you for a beersy.

I direct the Stage Monkeys San Diego and RC Georges, and I do an improv podcast called "as Ink".

I don't (unfortunately) have regular playing gigs, they're kind of ad hoc.

So short answer, no brick-and-mortar theater. Lemme know the next time you're in town!

And thanks for the Maestro (Micetro) lead!

Chris is good people! He's been showing us the SD improv ropes. I've been telling him how awesome the Austin community is, like, all the time.

Hi Chris! I don't know how early you'll be in town, but the annual Austin Improv community potluck is traditionally the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Anyone and everyone is invited to come, hang out, eat food, and be part of the group picture. You are of course totally welcome if you'll be in town! And that weekend is also Wafflefest, all you can eat waffles and improv comedy. I'm sure there would be a place to slip you in amongst the butter and syrup.

Come early, eat a lot of food, feel the love.
