Here are some of the issues that need to be hammered out in this meeting:
-What are the advantages and responsibilities of being a member of the AIC to an individual?
-What are the advantages and responsibilities of being a member of the AIC to a troupe?
-What are the advantages and responsibilites of being a member of the AIC to a venue?
-What are the advantages and responsibilities of the AIC in general?
-Is the AIC still relevent and necessary in its current form?
-Is relevent spelled correctly?
Answer these questions first and I think a lot of other issues will work themselves out (i.e. what it takes to qualify as a member, how much should a member, venue, troupe, etc. have to pay...)
Somebody who is more responsible than I am should head this thing up... or at least people should attempt to answer these questions on the forums. Let's meet some time on a Sunday maybe, after 4pm

Anything about the AIC itself.

This is a good idea, especially since thte next meeting will be dominated by presidential things and voting. Also, since Shannon is heading up the model research thing, it would be nice to have him at the meeting. October 15 or 22? We can decide at the October 1 meeting.

We talked about the questions above in our last AIC meeting. Had a brainstorming meeting with post-it notes. Talked about what are the responsibilities and good stuff that AIC brings to a troupe/person.York99 wrote:Here are some of the issues that need to be hammered out in this meeting:

So I had assumed at least for the three questions above, they have been discussed. Or are being further discussed in that thread.
Disorganization and repeated issues that are always brought up and never resolved makes me very discouraged. So did those of us who went to the meeting last time wasted 3 hours of our lives??
Sigh.
Is this what its like to be in a democratic government?? No wonder bills keep getting stuck. I'm becoming more and more in favor of having an AIC dictat--president.
And speaking of AIC president. I thought it was decided in the last meeting, that the AIC president will be voted on in the next meeting (which is next Sunday, 10 more days.) Who are the nominees? What is the voting process? What's going on??...a rrrrr gg hhhh
Can I suggest October 15. The follwoing weekend I'm on tour with Nemesis. Busy busy busy.valetoile wrote:This is a good idea, especially since thte next meeting will be dominated by presidential things and voting. Go back and look at that post and you will see that many of the benefits and responsibilities are specific to The Hideout.
Right now, the AIC IS the HIC (Hideout Improv Collective). To my knowledge, no shows outside of the Hideout have ever benefitted directly from the AIC, nor has the AIC benefitted from those shows. (I.e. Carousel, Velveeta, etc.)
My point is that it doesn't consider alternate venues. For our theater (and SVT and others) we have no use for many of the benefits of the AIC. Likewise, we are not going to ask members of the AIC to come to our theater and clean, host, etc.
Pretty much that leaves just advertising and social events. Both are very important, but this could be so much more. Right?
