How many improvisors in Austin?

Anything about the AIC itself.

It's now 492.
Sometimes it's a form of love just to talk to somebody that you have nothing in common with and still be fascinated by their presence.

I'm sticking with my original post and estimating -- "300"
  • current students (not yet performing)
    current core theater members
    current troupe performers
rogue improvisers/performers (not currently in a troupe)
... adjusted for no overlapping duplicates between categories
-- Each theater has about 10-20 core performers, aka company members that don't overlap with other theaters (15 avg * 5 = about 75 total)
-- Then there are those 80 who are in a troupe
-- Then there are about 30 improvisers who float between and regularly get cast in shows across multiple theaters.
-- Then there are those 15 who are interns/techs or improv helpers
-- Then there are those 100 who aren't currently performing in a show or troupe but who may think of themselves as "(out of work) Austin Improvisers"

-- Minus the 10 that leave ATX each year.
-- Plus the 10 that move to ATX each year.

Also, it's just fun to think of the AIC as "300"

(substitute "Sparta" with IMPROV and "Spartans" with IMPROVISERS"... and "Persian" with "Planners" or another foil to improv)

I have 265 friends in common with Marc Majcher - all of whom are improvisers (i'd assume)

but I maybe have 10 coldtowne friends on facebook. I have 0 new movement friends on facebook. and practically no Institution friends of facebook. Oh - and I have pretty much no Gnap! students who I know on facebook either. So....I'm saying definitely over 500.
