Hi,

My name is Tyler Bryce.

I just moved back to Austin after an 11 year absence. I am SO happy to be back.

The scene looks amazing and I can't wait to get involved.

Any suggestions on where to jump in?

Hi Tyler!

There are soooo many places to meet people and jump into shows now, it's nuts. Have you had any improv classes or stage time before?

There are a variety of mixers and free classes to get reacquainted as well as shows that cast weekly.

Hideout Theatre has:
Open casting for Fancy Pants Mashup, one friday a month, casting for Maestro & Maestro RAW that cast on this forum (some experience required)
www.hideouttheatre.com

ColdTowne has:
A lottery show that casts from the audience, a free jam on Sundays and occasional mixers
www.coldtownetheatre.com

The New Movement has:
A free weekly jam

Merlin Works has:
A monthly mixer that is very well attended and tons of fun
www.merlin-works.com

The Institution Theatre has:
Free workshops every two months or so plus some free shows:

Not to mention, there are auditions for shows ALL THE TIME on this forum.

Let me know if I forgot anything

Welcome! Looks like Bolden did the heavy lifting. Side note that the monthly Merlin Works mixers are also typically used as auditions for shows/troupes/etc.

Tyler is old school Austin Improv. He's a great guy with great ideas... What I'm saying is: I fully endorse Tyler's candidacy for president of these United States... *roar from crowd*

Thanks for the list, Jon! To answer your question, I do have taken a couple classes and have spent a little time on stage. Looking forward to getting back in the swing of Austin stuff.

Can't wait to see you other kids! Dan, you were, perhaps, the best house guest ever.

Chuy, I told you, I can't get the nomination because I was born in Kenya.

I can't wait to jump in. Head first.
