Antique Filmo cameras 1920s for sale

Post by graymatter »

I am selling two antique Filmo cameras by Bell & Howell. One is the older model 70-A 16mm from 1923. It does not have a lens, but works perfectly - it winds and rolls. Made of hard heavy metal, so there is very little wear on it. Really cool artifact for film and/or antique buffs and the like.

I am asking $50 for this one.

The second camera is the true gem. It is the later model 70-D 16mm from 1930. This is the same camera (not the actual one) used to film the infamously bad film Manos: The Hands of Fate. This comes with a Taylor & Hobson lens and its own custom case. It is unknown when the case was constructed, but the outer case is made with leather, the inner from green felt and is worn inside and out. The good kind of worn. Antiquey.

I am asking $100 for this one, lens and case included.

Both are in perfectly working condition, although I, personally, have not actually filmed anything with them. Also included is an old roll of film for the camera, but the expiration date on it says it expires in 1987. However, I am told that because it is sealed, it should still be ok to use. You do need a darkroom to use it though, as exposing film to light before use is no good.

Both cameras for $120.
