Big article on the Comedy Scene in the Statesman

Post by Asaf »

It covers a lot of ground including the defunct Big Stinkin' and the development of the AIC. Features quotes from Jeremy Sweetlamb, Shana Merlin, Andy Crouch and more.

And Jeremy, thanks for the plug.

thank God...this'll save time for us old timers from having to drunkenly regale newer improvisors with the history of the scene. ;) great article!

"The comedian Jeremy Lamb."
The silver knives are flashing in the tired old cafe. A ghost climbs on the table in a bridal negligee. She says "My body is the life; my body is the way." I raise my arm against it all and I catch the bride's bouquet.

Anyone know where those slideshow pictures came from? I'd love to get soe more of the old Hideout. I'm guessing Statesman archives?

The very last one of Shana and Sean was taken/contributed by me. (I sent Roy some of the ones I have recently.) The other ones of young-and-skinny Sean are credited to a Statesman photog.

It's called Airstream, and is one of only a handful of fonts available on roflbot.com ... the lazy man's way to caption photos.
