Wafflefest is Back in November

Post by acrouch »

The week before Thanksgiving we're offering the good people of Austin an opportunity to stretch their stomachs with all the improv and waffles they can eat.

We'll run Thursday, Friday, Saturday November 16, 17 and 18. We'll probably keep it a mostly local festival (maybe invite some peeps from elsewhere in Texas).

If you are an improv troupe in Austin, you are invited to perform -- send me your availability. If you're an improviser in Austin, you are invited to help make and serve waffles -- please for the love of god, send me your availability. acrouch@heroescomedy.com

What's the breakdown? Like how many slots and how much time for each slot.

Also, is sketch okay?

I'm thinking one block on Thursday and three blocks on both Friday and Saturday, matching the current schedule. Three or two troupes per block. Maybe an All-Star Maestro in one of the late-night spots. Half of all ticket sales will go to the AIC.

I'd like to get as many improv troupes in as possible. If there's room after that, we would love to have sketch.

How 'bout we have an official Waffle-makin' sign-up sheet this time 'round?

Indeed. I'll draw up a list of shifts and invite people to sign up on the boards.

I think a requirement of playing be that someone in the troupe also sign up to make waffles at least once. Just one person, just one shift. A fair trade.

Sounds like an excellent requirement.
