Film Screening at the Alamo Ritz: In The Moment

Post by acrouch »

The Hideout is hosting In the Moment (a documentary about the Canadian Improv Games) at the Alamo Ritz on Tuesday, April 10 at 7pm. We screened the TJ & Dave documentary last year and had a good turnout and fun discussion afterwards, so we'd like to continue to do this every couple months.

"In the Moment follows six high school improv teams on their journey to compete for the gold at the Canadian Improv Games.

Told from the candid perspectives of the kids themselves, at practices and team sleepovers, the film captures what it's like to be a teenager today. Though the focus of the film is improv, the National Tournament becomes a dramatic backdrop for the bigger story about modern kids and their families."

Check out the trailer!

We're doing this through a company called Tugg, which works like Kickstarter or Groupon in that the event only happens if 40 people buy tickets before April 7. Help us make this screening happen and order your ticket today!

We're especially excited to get teens out for this screening. Teens who are doing improv already, or teens who might get inspired to start improv at their schools or with their friends.

Thanks for the bump. This looks interesting, and I was sad to miss TJ & Dave. I'll buy a ticket as soon as my replacement debit card arrives (boo, lost debit cards).

I own this movie, and it is great. I've watched it several times.

I would recommend that people try to make it out to see it.

The young people in my life are Kayla, Ruby, Halyn, Dobrenko, and Yanoshak. I've tried to get them interested in improv but they just roll their eyes and go back to their video games.
The silver knives are flashing in the tired old cafe. A ghost climbs on the table in a bridal negligee. She says "My body is the life; my body is the way." I raise my arm against it all and I catch the bride's bouquet.
