So far, if this post is right, it looks like just Andy and I will be there to determine the course of this ship so far as advertising initiatives go. So unless you people want another Exxon Valdeez or Titanic on your hands, I'm counting on your showing up to help in the engine room.

OK, enough nautical metaphors. The point is that there is an Advertising Meeting tonight at 6:00 at the Hideout. Some of you may have had Action Items from the last meeting, so review that list and be ready to report if called upon.

I'll review the list of Action Items and new ideas and post a tentative agenda after lunch.

...just as an fyi, I know Erika's involved with the Advertising committee but she's in Chicago on business through tomorrow.

Also, the hideout experience committee is meeting around the same time it seems so we may bump into one another...

a committee formed during the last meeting to improv the overall experience of visiting the Hideout. we can sell the comedy, the shows, but not the theatre in the sense that we want people to say to each other, "What's going on this weekend?" "I don't know. Let's see what's at the Hideout." We'll be meeting around 6:30pm so we'll see you crazy cats there.

..it's to improve the over all experience folks have at the Hideout - the details from buying a ticket to knowing where the bathrooms are to feeling taken care of as an audience member.... you know..stuff : )

Well, darn it.
Did I miss a meeting announcement because I wouldn't have cross-scheduled had I known. No one answered my call for possible meeting times so I went with pre-jam because the last few advertsing meetings have been that way. We'll try to hurry, because I have some things I'd like to say in the experience meeting, too.

We have some big agenda items to get through so the advertising meeting hits the ground running at 6:00 sharp so that people can get to the jam or to the other meeting.

The agenda for the advertising meeting is as follows:

1. Discuss status of updated audience surveys (Roy)
2. Discuss Campus Schit initiative (when, what is the focus? - All)
3. Discuss Press Release status (? - No Erika, may be put off until next meeting)
4. Discuss Event List Status (Wes)
5. Discuss generic flyers (Wes)
6. Discuss outside Austin advertising (All)
7. Discuss getting brochures to hotels and convention center area businesses (Andy)
8. Discuss Logo ideas (All)
9. Discuss Guest Star Idea/Initiative (All)
10. Update on Advertising Plan of Action (? - No Erika, may be put off until next meeting)
11. Settle on what the ticket prices are (Andy)
12. Distribute Life-saving information on what seafood is safe to eat and what isn't (Wes)

I will be absent from the meeting (damn scheduling conflicts), but mark me down as ready, willing, and able to do whatever pavement-pounding AIC advertising needs.

Re: Guest Stars. I still really want to get Kinky Friedman in for a campaign fund-raising Maestro. We'll need to contact his camp now, though, since he's really busy. It'd probably be months before he could do it, if he's even willing to.
