Firefly: The Musical! - Auditions March 5th
The Institution Theater continues its Live TV Tuesdays series by staging an episode of FIREFLY as a musical! We've taken the episode "Our Mrs. Reynolds and have added six original songs written by myself and Michael Thomas.
Only the following characters will have songs: Mal, Inara, Saffron, Wash, Jayne. All the other characters will be non-singing parts except for joining in on singing the theme song at the top of the show.
AUDITIONS WILL BE on Monday, March 5th. Ten minute slots are available between the hours of 7pm and 10pm. You will be required to perform a song and read from some sides provided. Auditions are taking place at The Highball (1142 S Lamar Blvd.) in one of their karaoke rooms so you will be able to prepare a song (there is a Highball app on iPhone and Android with their full song list available). Performing a classic country song is a HUGE plus as that will be the style of the music. Bring a resumé. Headshots are not necessary.
The run of shows will take place on Tuesdays in May at 8pm and Fridays in June at 10pm. Rehearsal schedule are TBA. Director is Asaf Ronen.
For a slot contact Asaf Ronen at yesandasaf@gmail.com with your availabilities.

To become a professional critic, all you really need are some basic writing skills, a mania for meeting deadlines, a general disinterest in making money, and the ability to project the illusion of expertise.

well, since you played the same character in Buffy and Angel, it would really be more of going for the Jeff Ricketts...hujhax wrote:*contemplates going for the Highball "Jonathan M. Woodward hat trick"*

I intimately know three seasons: Autumn-ish, Spring-like, and Why Do I Still Live in Texas.

I want to try out a few of the country songs at the Highball, so attempting to get together a small group to do that Sunday afternoon. I have no idea who is auditioning, in order to invite them. Let me know if you want to join in. (Or just invite yourself, it's a public Facebook event.)

And we've got our cast:
Mal – Michael Thomas
Inara – Lindsey Reeves
Saffron – Sabrina Jones
Wash – Stephen Robinson
Zoe – Ammie Leonards
Jayne – Jason Vines
Kaylee – Sarah Swofford
Book – Adam Mengesha
Simon – Peter Rogers
River – Alexa Rodriguez
Breed, Bandit #1, Elder Gommen - David Young
Corbin, Bandit #2 /Understudy- Heath Allyn
You're not familiar with some of these names. That's because we cast a wide net and pulled in some talented individuals from within and without the improv community.
