Tonight in Austin Improv…
It occurred to me last night, and correct me if I'm wrong, that there's not a single calendar anywhere listing what's going on at each of the Five Theaters. It's hard for me to keep it straight in my head sometimes. So I'm gonna start this thread and see if I can remember to keep it going.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4

8:30 - Ghetto Sketch Warlock: Your Mom is a Show
10:00 - Frank Mills and Midnight Society
11:00 - Jam City (for CT students and faculty)
THE HIDEOUT THEATRE:
8:00 - The Sci-Fi Double Feature
10:00 - Maestro
THE INSTITUTION THEATER
8:00 - DANGER! The Improvised Lifetime Movie
10:00 - Clusterfunk: feat. Shades of Brown, Max McCloud, Marlena Mae Mercer & Hanklin T. Belle, The Living Room, and The Better Half
THE NEW MOVEMENT THEATER
9:00 - Duocity
10:30 - Hashtag (standup)
SALVAGE VANGUARD THEATER
8:00 - Steam, Rose-Colored Goggles, and the Flight of the Victoriana (Final Night!)

Re: Tonight in Austin Improv…
Roy used to do it on the AIC homepage. Years ago I tried to create a master calendar using feeds but the ease of technology was not quite there. I wonder if it's possible now that some time has passed. Kevin, Great post - silly follow up question: Do they all have Google Calendars? Can this lovely AIC tool show all 5 or link to all 5?

That was the approach I originally took, however, sometimes their calendars showed items not meant for public i.e., "Leave check for Mr. Smith". The problem I was having was being able to filter out those events and aggregate properly. Also, I was getting stuff like that times being incorrect, etc... It was a mess.PaGeN wrote:Kevin, Great post - silly follow up question: Do they all have Google Calendars? Can this lovely AIC tool show all 5 or link to all 5?
BUT, I'm sure technology has gotten better in that regard and someone out there might be an XML wiz.

Yes
I'd love to see an "All Improv Theaters" calendar somewhere. It is difficult to keep it all straight.

I know the tech geeks would love to have something that sort of updated automatically from the theaters' various websites, but I wonder if it would be that hard for someone to just create a google calendar that we'd all have access to and each theater would be responsible for putting their stuff up on it? That's something that could be implemented right away, would take someone at each theater 20 minutes a month to input information into and would be used and appreciated by many, many people... you know with, like, a different color for each theater, one for social events, one for auditions, etc...

Awesome Kevin! So amazing to see that listed all together. I have to add, even though it's after the fact, that AIC was well represented at another theater last night too:
FRONTERA FEST Best-Of-Week 8pm at HYDE PARK THEATER:
South of Tennessee (Improvised Tennessee Williams) with Topping Haggerty and Susannah Raulino
McNichol & May are Breeders (sketch)
Handbomb (The New Movement) Misinterprets Romeo & Juliet
