Hello, friends of improv, friends of Austin, friends of The Institution and friends of me. Tom Booker and I are taking our theater to the next level. Building out the space so we can in turn help more people achieve their dreams. A donation to us is a donation to them.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Everyone- we're halfway through the month-long campaign but not yet halfway to our $20,000 goal. Please consider pledging to our Kickstarter fund.
We plan to continue building the theater (we need risers, a classroom, a box office, etc.) and putting up four brand new Tom Booker shows:
"Bad Girls In Plaid Skirts!" - a play with music set in the sixties about a Catholic Reform School that is going to need divine intervention in order to battle the City Zoning Commision and the Anti-Christ! (The Audience will determine which side the girls choose to determine the fate of the Universe!)
"Bye, Bye, Turdie! - The 90's Grunge Rock Musical" - Turdie is a bored grunge rock superstar (think Courtney Love meets Neely O'Hara) who wants to end it all and broadcast her suicide on this new thing called the internet. Unfortunately she meets Brad, a member of the touring company of "Forever Plaid" and has feelings that she has never experienced before that causes her to question her life choices.
"Zombio & Juliet" - A modern day retelling of Shakespeare's love story with a little bit of twist. This classic Boy Eats Girl tale answers the question, "Can a girl love a boy that just happens to be one of the Walking Dead?"
"The Love Show" - In 1969, a group of young actors filled with dreams and hope are inspired by the rock musical "Hair" to "Do something like "Hair" only better. You know?" And so they head up to a barn in upstate New York to set up a commune and create the "perfect rock musical." Only the results are not quite what they expected.
Thank you so much!

The fine folks at Gnap have offered a matching donation of $250 if we get $250 in donations by 6:00 p.m. tonight!
A big huge thank you goes out to Gnap and to everyone else who has pledged.
Please help support us to keep building the theater and to put on 4 original shows! We've got only 10 days to go and we're not quite halfway there monetarily. We in danger of not making it and losing all of those lovely pledges!
Thank you so much!

Friends-
You can’t believe how absolutely thankful and humbled we are that so many of you donated your hard-earned money toward our Kickstarter campaign. We keep hearing stories of people doing without just to support us. Today I heard from one friend who buys herself a particular present for her birthday- this year she donated the money to The Institution Theater instead. Everyone has been so kind and so generous. And so many mothers of Institution performers and students donated! We just kept seeing those familiar last names on our list of backers! We’ve heard that people have gotten their friends, co-workers, and family members to donate; even those out of Austin, who just want to support our little theater with the big dreams. Thank you so much to everybody. We are going to work really hard to make you proud and to give you an amazing theatrical experience every time you walk in the door. Thank you!
