The setting: Hideout New Years Eve 10:30pm show.

We were playing Blind Line.

Audience members before the show had written down lines of dialogue on slips of paper. For the scene, we scatter the lines all over the stage floor. Then throughout the scene the improvisers occasionally pick up a slip, read the line, and incorporate it immediately into the scene.

Kaci and Troy were playing a couple vacationing at the Grand Canyon. At some point Troy picks up a piece of paper that says:

"My ding dong brings all the fags to the yard."

He reads it. I pause the scene, playfully chastise the audience for a bit, and then continue.

Kaci's character gets mad about her boyfriend's sudden revelation that he's gay. She picks up a piece of paper and reads:

"I'll get you my pretty"

and immediately adds:

"and your little dong, too!"

Lights. Scene. Best line of 2011.

Awesome. I love that kind of stuff in improv mostly because I think if you were to script that, it would sound too desperate and contrived. But you and the audience knowing that it happened organically is magical.

I realize this observation has been made 1000 before, but I felt like this a perfect example.
