TAP seeking volunteers for Katrina Survivor Benefit

Post by smerlin »

We are still looking for volunteers to help with this event on the 9th. Please pass this on to friends and come lend a hand if you can!

Hello TAP friends:

The Austin Area Urban League has asked TAP to be part of an exciting event on September 9, 2006 for Katrina Survivors. The event is an opportunity for families to get connected to area resources as well as a time for everyone to reflect, celebrate and honor the events of one year ago.

The event will take place at Huston-Tillotson from 11-6. We will provide interactive children’s activities between 1-4pm. We are looking for volunteers to come help with mask making stations, puppet making stations, provide musical or puppet show entertainment and possibly lead group games. We ask for volunteers to work an entire 2-hour block or more.

If you are available and interested in coming to the event let us know and we will communicate with you in regards to what you can do to help and where we need you. This is obviously a very busy time of year for us so we are going to keep the preparation for this to a minimum. So, once you have agreed to help we will tell you where and when to show up and that will be the extent of pre-event communication.

We hope you can come out to help this very worthy cause! If you have friends or family that want to help, please sign them up, too.

See the attached flyer to learn more about this event.

Thanks!
