Auditions for Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

Post by Asaf »

This show is part of the on going "Teen Angst Tuesdays" show that The Institution Theater has been running at The Highball. We are changing the format of the show and using scripts from any TV or Web Series Show.

We are kicking off the new season with a staged version of "Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog" Opening February 7th and running the 21st and 28th at 8pm at The Highball. Then we will extend the run on Fridays at 10pm at The Institution Theater.

Auditions will be held on Monday Dec. 12th 6-9pm at Studio 1308. 1308 E. 7th St. (parking is on Navasota across from the cemetery) Please bring a Headshot or suitable picture.

Prepare a ballad to sing (A Cappella or bring a CD for accompaniment) Cold readings from the script, sides will be available at the audition or you can bring a prepared monologue (no more than 2 minutes)

Email heidi[bat]heidicaldwell[bot]com for an audition time slot. Please indicate a time range between 6pm and 9pm that you are available to audition and you will be assigned a 10 minute spot.

For the ballad, would you prefer us to sing songs from the show, or to not sing them and sing something else, musical theatre related?

Do you know when rehearsals will begin for this show? Also, what day of the week will they be on?

Either way, your song can be from the show or not, whatever shows us what you can do!

The rehearsal schedule is still being worked out due to limited rehearsal space but we are looking at 2-3 weeknights and/or 1 weekend afternoon/evening. And we will be starting immediately! As in the read thru will be scheduled for later that week!

The show performances will run Tuesday Nights 8pm in Feb. (dark on the 14th) and Friday Nights at 10pm in March.

Please make sure you know your availability between now and then end of March when you come to the audition. Including throughout the Holidays.

OH man! I was so in when I saw that this was a Tuesday show, but then I saw the Friday part... Guess that rules me out.

Love the choice though!

Have fun!

There is a possibility that we will have to have a rotating cast in order to accommodate everyone's schedules so please don't let that stop you from auditioning!

Hey Everyone!

If you are interested in auditioning next Monday for the staged version of Dr. Horrible be sure to email me at heidi@heidicaldwell.com to schedule an appointment.

The spots are filling up quickly, to ensure that you get a time that works for your schedule get in touch with me soon!

If you are worried about rehearsal/performance schedules don't be! We will mostly likely be double casting the main roles to accommodate the long run of the show and we will work around your schedule for rehearsals on weeknights and weekends!

If you have any other questions again, feel free to contact me at heidi@heidicaldwell.com!

Thanks!
