Wasn't it exciting to have all these visitors in our city and show them how awesome Austin Improv is? Don't you want them to come back next year and be blown away by how much more amazing it is? We've scheduled our next general body meeting for this Sunday, September 10, at 1pm at the Hideout. Come and help make the AIC even better.
On the agenda for this meeting is: what is the AIC? and do we want a president? These are huge issues that will take up most of the meeting. If you have something else you want on the agenda post it here or PM me and I'll try to get it on.
Regarding the two topics mentioned above, I would love if people would give me guidance as to how to structure them on the agenda. Do we want to present proposals and discuss them? Do we have a specific list of questions we want answered by the end of the meeting? Again, post here or PM me and I'll put together the agenda. I'l post it later this week and I'll bring copies to the meeting.
hearts,
CdR

bob and i are out of town for a week beginning this friday, so i will be unable to make it.
i think the meeting should focus on what AIC is and what membership we have first - who is a member and what rights and responsibilities are assigned?
in particular, i think we need to resolve this to vote on big issues (like presidents) but may not be able to physically attend the actual meeting.
i propose that each individual player of the AIC is a member, and receives 1 total vote (one player, one vote). being on several teams will not affect your voting rights - you still get 1 vote.
anyone who is in AIC now is a member. in the future, to become a member, one must play with an AIC team/show for 3 months, and have the signatures of at least 3 other AIC members to join.
(go austin).

I ould like to request that all simple discussions go first, and then we save thte heated debates for the end, so that nothing gets squeezed out of time. My contribution to said simple issues is picking the dae of our family reunion/potluck/photo-op/love fest. Rachel and I have two dates in mind, and we'd like to pick one on Sunday. The two dates in consideration are November 19 and November 12, both are Sundays. Check your calendars and be ready to choose, or if you can't make it to the meeting, speak up here or elsewhere if one or both of the dates is terrible/wonderful. We have some great things planned.

I would avoid the Sunday right before or after Thanksgiving because some people travel, or clean up for out of town guests, or already have guests, etc. Or they are too concerned with cooking a big meal for that Thursday to want to cook dishes for a potluck the weekend right before or after.
Other than that, November is pretty open for me, personally.

Great Googly Moogly - that's one of the most sensible, concrete suggestions I've heard yet!erikamay wrote:i think the meeting should focus on what AIC is and what membership we have first - who is a member and what rights and responsibilities are assigned?
