I saw Little Miss Sunshine a week ago and I vomited in the corner of the theater afterwards.
Anybody else have the same reaction?
Were there subliminal strobelight effects in the movie to induce such an utterly repugnant, bile-wretching moment of pain?
Do I have a strong aversion to Hollywood's "quirk for quirk's sake" or was there puking in other theaters as well?

Sometimes it's a form of love just to talk to somebody that you have nothing in common with and still be fascinated by their presence.

Were all those people lobotomized by Gene Shalit's stiff, bread-crumb-soaked bicycle moustache prior to this Hollywood brianstorming or have they never taken a film class in college?

Oh, yeah, you should definitely see this if you're interested. Interested in random bodily fluids leaving your body.
Double bag this one (as in brown paper sack, pervs).

I was strangely aroused by it, but I am always aroused by anyone with the last name Arkin.
On a less serious note, I thought it was well done and very funny in a dark and sick way. I laughed out loud a bunch and so did everyone else in the theatre (except for this guy who puked in the corner)
On a more serious note, Chris told me that he actually has not yet seen the movie and does not plan to see the movie until he ends his Micetro losing streak (currently at 73 and counting).
Good luck Chris and thanks for playing so others can have a better shot at winning.

i saw the movie on it's opening weekend, and i have to say that i agree with chris.
the movie is nothing more than "quirk for quirk's sake." that's not to say that the performances aren't excellent. in fact, they are stellar, and it's the best role i have seen Steve Carell in to date.
however, nothing in this movie rings true. nothing seems to be this way because that's who these people are. instead, the movie seems to be a jigsaw puzzle that was put together in some executive's office, who thought "The Royal Tennenbaums" was pretty interesting.
everything that happens, happens too easily. it's a fun piece of entertainment, but calling this film anything beyond slightly above-average is giving it way way way too much credit.

Yeah! Thanks Jon Hunt!
Performances were pretty damn good. There were many shining moments. I love Arkin and Steve. If you want popcorn and jellybeans you will enjoy this movie.
But don't force your idea of a quirky family taking a last-minute road trip totally inspired by other films (like Jon mentioned, Royal Tenenbaums) on me as if it were a touching feel-good genuine thing. And for God's sake don't rip off National Lampoon's vacation!
Once again, Jon Hunt steps to the aide of someone who actually gives a damn about movie quality. Do not get sucked into the jingoistic hype of this movie. It's a C- minus on one review system and a three and 1/2 beers on my own personal movie rating system.
Ted, I've won Micetro more recently than you. Andy Crouch just doesn't like to recognize my efforts.

Dave and I just saw it the other night
I liked it, I'm glad I saw it
BUT
I have so many comments I can't write them all
because I don't want anyone to know how picky, critical and judgmental I am.
people probably already know and don't care - i hope.
I mean I hate to sound so picky - cuz - shit - look what they made!
and here I am making shit up on the coner of 7th and congress
BUT...........
I liked Steve, and all that bla bla
but I kept thinking - Arthur Simone could do this part a lot better
I mean I liked the comedy part of his character and I liked the real part - I think I love who that character was supposed to be - but fuck - if I can't stand watching an actor act - the photography was so close up - you can't help but see right in their eyes at the giant gap between being real and 'acting'
Greg - yes - i think that part might have been great on stage, - but gimme e break - he was one dimension. the same damn note for whole film. You can't play a pussy with no dimensions - i don't even like him anymore
i'm done with Greg.
I LOVED LOVED LOVED The Royal Tennenbaums and i wish i didn't have it my head that this was supposed to be a little like that -
i couldn't fully let go and just enjoy the film cuz I was half busy watching all the gap of fake
i was really enjoying Arkin - and then well - you know....
i also have pms
so back off
i wish the Bridgeport Ladies had a show tonight - cuz I'm ready for one
anyone wanna fight?
I liked the ending though
Love,
Rachel

I think your review of Lil Miss Sunshine should be the starting point for a new "PMS Movie Reviewer" Column.
I think it gives you some insights that would otherwise neevr be found.
I would look forward to reading that every week (...or month)
