Nov. 8th - election

Post by Miggy »

Reminder: Today (Tuesday November 8th) is election day. What's on the ballot you say? Two Travis County Bonds (one for Roads, one for Parks) and a slew of State Constitutional Amendments.

In a change this time - you can go vote at any polling location on election day - not just your specific precinct.

I voted:
"no" on the Prop 1 roads bond (while the county derives nearly all of its revenues in Austin, every penny of this $133M is spent on roads outside the city limits) http://austinist.com/2011/10/24/vote_no ... ositio.php,

"yes" on the Prop 2 parks bond (also spent outside the city limits but this will help avoid sprawl on the same land and buy up important conservation easements),

and followed Burnt Orange Report's recommendations on the Texas Constitutional Amendments: http://www.burntorangereport.com/diary/ ... t-election

Polls are open 7am to 7pm. For locations around town click here:

But again - you can go to any HEB or Randalls with the "Vote Here" sign out front.
