UCB retrospective - New York Mag

Post by Spots »

Chris Gethard shared this with me today. Really intriguing and insightful to read how UCB started its movement in NYC.

It's one of those articles that pieces together multiple perspectives into a narrative history of the theater (I also read a book on Second City structured like this).

Thanks for sharing that! I love the UCB's story.

"SANZ: For the first couple of shows, my friend from high school would stand in the back with a stun gun and a lab coat, and we’d say, 'If people leave or get out of control, they will be dealt with by one of our assistants.' " <--- Awesome

Follow up listening : Adam McKay's interview on Marc Maron's WTF Podcast. I think that was the first I had heard of the UCB's weird, experimental shows. Definitely worth checking out
