Bob, I have the three albums Chad VanGaalen has released under his own name if you haven't heard them. Didn't realize another was on the way, so thanks for the heads up.mcnichol wrote:New Chad VanGaalen song
What are you listening to?
Everything else, basically.

Thanks Adam -- I do have those and liked them, but I'll need to pull them back out again. I don't remember having the reaction to those that I'm having to this one.
Here's anther track or two from the record, as well as Chad's appearance on Letterman's Stupid Human Tricks years and years ago (about 2:30 into the clip).

Some recent heavy rotations:

Tearist, self-titled--featuring vocals from ex-Austin improviser, Yasmine Kittles

Pocketknives & Friendship Bracelets
by DEaf
Both come out of the LA noise/werido/art party scene. Tearist is a little more dark, DEaf a little more dance punk. Both are really awesome.

hey, musically inclined internetty types! i'm trying to find a downloadable version of "Now Until the Break of Day" by Baz Luhrmann (Todd Stashwick played it during his OOB workshop and it's been stuck in my head since...damn cheery pop dance music and Shakespeare lyrics!) and so far having no luck through my usual channels. any advice? or anyone have a copy they can share with me?

It is a great record. Their show at SXSW 2012 was vicious. Loved it!trabka wrote:The new Japandroids album is my album of the summer (and smart money is on it being my album of the year) and should be yours too.
